International Projects at 1310 West Main Street, Lexington, KY 40508-2048 US - Women Peace Makers

Women Peacemakers is a group founded by Linda Harvey, and as the name would suggest, it is a group of women dedicated to bringing about peace in the world.  They do this on both an international and a local level.  Currently, the group is putting together a Women Peacemaker weekend in March, which will bring in speakers to talk about peace and justice, several of which will share their own personal experiences with violence in third world countries.  In addition, the group is organizing a trip to Africa.  The purpose of the trip will be to work with refugee women and children to help them gain some measure of self-sufficiency.  They would like to help teach them job skills, which will in turn help them better their own lives.
